Step-by-Step Guide to Making the Perfect Pour-Over Coffee
Pour-over might sound fancy, but don’t trip—it’s easier than you think. And when you’re using BLK & Bold’s Limu, Ethiopia beans, you’re in for a serious flavor flex.
Here’s how you can master the pour-over game at home, no barista required.
1. Get Your Gear Together: You’ll need a dripper (Hario V60 or Chemex are clutch), filters, a gooseneck kettle (for that precise pour), and of course, our Limu, Ethiopia light roast coffee—ground to medium-fine.
2. Rinse Your Filter: Pop that filter in the dripper and rinse it with hot water. This move gets rid of any paper taste and warms up your gear—smooth operator status. Dump the rinse water before you start brewing.
3. Measure and Grind: Use a scale (because we’re all about precision) to measure out 25-30 grams of coffee per cup. It should be ground to a texture like sea salt—smooth but gritty.
4. Let It Bloom: Pour just enough hot water (about 200°F) to wet the grounds and let it chill for 30 seconds. This is the bloom—where your coffee releases that good CO2 and gets ready to shine.
5. Pour Slow, Pour Steady: Now, pour the rest of the water in slow circles, starting from the center and spiraling out. This should take you about 2-3 minutes—easy does it.
6. Enjoy That Fresh Brew: Once the water’s done its thing, remove the dripper and savor your cup of Limu, Ethiopia light roast coffee.
It’s clean, vibrant, and packed with those fruity notes that’ll have you hooked. Pour-over might take a little more time, but the payoff is real—a smooth, flavorful cup that’s worth the wait.
