Handling with Care and Building Community

Creating strong mental health support for the youth starts with creating spaces where they feel safe to show up as they are. It is built through trust, consistency, and access to the right resources at the right time.
This month, we are highlighting the community partners that make mental health a priority and creating environments where care is foundational.
Where support shows up every day
At Youth Guidance, mental health support is embedded in the school experience. Through programs like Becoming a Man and Working on Womanhood, students build confidence, process emotions, and develop healthy coping skills with the support of trusted mentors.
That same commitment to emotional well being is reflected in the work of The Black Man Can, where mentorship, storytelling, and community conversations create spaces where young Black men feel seen, supported, and empowered. Their work encourages confidence, connection, and personal growth while helping break down stigma around mental health.
In Seattle, YouthCare supports young people experiencing homelessness with a strong focus on behavioral health. Alongside housing and education, they provide mental health services that help youth stabilize and begin to heal.
Kid Power Inc. focuses on prevention, teaching young people skills like boundary setting, communication, and confidence building. These tools support emotional well being and help youth feel more in control of their lives.
At Sunset Youth Services, programs like Healing Arts and Family Support Services create safe, community-centered spaces where young people can navigate challenges, strengthen resilience, and access caring support systems rooted in healing and connection.
NC Child also recognizes the importance of early mental health support through initiatives like EarlyWell, which focuses on strengthening social-emotional health for children and families. By bringing together caregivers, health practitioners, and community leaders, they are helping build stronger systems of care rooted in early support and long-term well being.
Building stronger futures through care
Across each of these organizations, mental health is part of how they support growth and opportunity. When young people are supported emotionally, they are better equipped to thrive.
We are proud to stand beside partners who prioritize well being and create spaces where young people can build strong foundations for the future.
For Our Youth
Through our For Our Youth initiative, we remain committed to supporting organizations that invest in the whole person. That includes mental health, emotional well being, and the confidence to move forward with purpose.
