BLK & Bold Teams Up with NBPA 450 Gives to Celebrate Fans and Community on Giving Tuesday

NEW YORK, NY, November 29, 2021, BLK & Bold, the illustrious Black-owned and nationally distributed coffee brand committed to making purpose popular through youth-driven giveback initiatives, has partnered with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) as part of the launch of NBPA 450 Gives, its first-ever flagship holiday event with 14 days of prizes and giveaways that fans can win.

On Giving Tuesday (November 30th, 2021) BLK & Bold took over the NBPA 450 Gives traveling pop-up making stops at Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center ahead of the Brooklyn Nets hosting the New York Knicks later that evening. The pop-up will be open for fans to explore and will reveal new gifts that they can win from the NBPA and BLK & Bold, including a one-year complimentary subscription of coffee and tea. Additional prizes offered during the day were free $25 Gift Cards from retail, Target,  and Target's Black Beyond Measure initiative.

This experiential NBPA 450 Gives activation represents a deeper commitment to the community for the brand founded by childhood best friends and Co-Founders, Rod Johnson and Pernell Cezar who met as youth on a basketball court. This initiative is a meaningful follow up to the brand’s partnership with the NBA launched earlier this year, where the NBA matches BLK & Bold’s 5% contribution towards the company's pledge partners supporting youth in need. The first collaboration “The Warm Up” launched earlier this year consisted of two SKU’s representing the Eastern and Western Conference.

“With basketball having such a positive impact on our lives growing up, partnering with the NBPA to give back to the community is a dream come true,” says Rod Johnson, Co-Founder and CMO of BLK & Bold. “This unique activation gives us the opportunity to connect directly with fans and further our mission of giving.”
