National Account Manager

The Opportunity:

We are an emerging start-up looking for a dynamic team player to manage our national account across multiple sales channels. This role will partner with the cross functional teams to develop & deliver against sales objectives and benchmarks that drive profitable and sustainable business growth. This position reports to the VP of Sales. 

Major Duties And Responsibilities: All responsibilities are defined on a direct to customer basis

  1. Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  2. Collaborates with company personnel, including support, service and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations
  3. Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  4. Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis
  5. Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel
  6. Enlists the support of sales & marketing implementation resources as needed
  7. Closely coordinates with VP of Sales involvement with customer management
  8. Works closely with Sales Support Rep to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
  9. Position may require extensive travel

Account Abilities & Performance Measures:

  1. Achieves assigned sales objectives in designated national accounts and sales agency management
  2. Meets assigned expectations for profitability
  3. Achieves strategic customer objectives defined by company and account management in a joint business planning process
  4. Completes strategic customer account plans
  5. Maintains high customer satisfaction & develops direct relationships with customer personal & sales agency
  6. Responsible to develop annual sales & spend plan for Territory inclusive of forecasting

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 3-5 yrs. of strategic sales or related experience in a bus to bus sales environment
  2. Experience in coffee, beverage, or foodservice industry
  3. Proven ability to develop sales growth and management strategies and communicate recommendations to executives
  4. Outstanding communications and leadership skills
  5. Experience with IRI, Nielsen, Mintel, SPINS, Salesforce, sales enabling systems and data platforms
  6. Experience with fast-paced or high growth environments
  7. Entrepreneurial and solution-focused with strong ability to inspire and motivate self and others
  8. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  9. Strong analytical skills partnered with a creative mind
  10. Four year college degree from an accredited institution
  11. Excellent written communications, strong Excel & PowerPoint skills
